Presentation typography has unique constraints: slides are read at a distance, often on projected screens with variable quality. Fonts need to be highly legible at large sizes, hold up when projected, and communicate authority in 6 seconds or less.
For presentations, opt for fonts with good letterform distinction — avoid fonts where I, l, and 1 look similar. Sans-serif fonts generally outperform serifs on projected screens because thin serifs disappear at low resolutions.
Bold geometric sans-serifs like Bebas Neue, Oswald, or Archivo Black make powerful headline fonts for slide decks. They read clearly even on low-quality projectors and command attention instantly.
Body text on slides should be large (minimum 24px), light in weight, and highly legible. Fonts like DM Sans, Karla, and Nunito Sans all perform well at presentation sizes.
